Kearny Mesa Subaru's 7th Annual Share the Love Event in Partnership with Meals on Wheels San Diego
SAN DIEGO – December 6,
2017 - Pacific Coast Commercial had the pleasure of attending Kearny Mesa
Subaru’s 7th Annual Share the Love Food Truck Event in partnership
with Meals on Wheels San Diego. The program provides daily company
for seniors living alone through caring volunteers and contributes to the overall
well-being of seniors by delivering regular nutritious meals, many of whom
are unable to purchase or prepare meals of their own.
Today, the Meals on Wheels programs are serving 23
million fewer meals today than in 2005. The reduction is a direct result of the
imbalanced pace between inflation and the rapid and consistent growth of
America’s senior population. Since Share the Love began in 2008, Subaru has
helped deliver over 1.7 million meals to America’s seniors.
The event was successfully filled with delicious onsite
food trucks, ranging from sub sandwiches to fish tacos, encouraging community
involvement as attendees were given tokens to vote for their favorite trucks to win the Peoples Choice Award. Radio stations such as 100.7 KFM-BFM and 101 KBG
San Diego Classic Rock also volunteered by providing games and prizes.
Debbie Case, President and CEO of Meals on Wheels San
Diego attended the event to greet and thank company while inspiring guests to
donate time and resources for this preventative healthcare non-profit program. Listen
