Are you a local to Central San Diego, or frequent the area often? If so, you are probably familiar with the massive amount of construction taking place along our congested highways. Currently, 650 highway, transit, bike, and pedestrian, habitat conservation, local street repairs, grant projects and programs totaling more than $13.7 billion have been completed.
In the coming decades, TransNet will continue to finance major initiatives to preserve and enhance this region’s rich resources and economic vitality, including extending the San Diego Trolley to the University City area of San Diego, improving the Interstate 5 North Coast Corridor, and building more than 40 bike projects throughout the region. In addition to the completed projects highlighted in this story map, more than 200 other projects totaling $3.3 billion are currently under construction.
