IREM’s REstart Update – PCC Support

REstart Update – By: Tamara LaChimia, Administrative Assistant, REstart Program

”We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” – Winston Churchill

REstart is fortunate to have the support of an industry that exemplifies Churchill’s adage, with companies and individuals who give so graciously, whether through financial support, volunteering, intern hosting, mentoring or coaching.

At August’s RSI Roofing Golf Tournament, REstart raised $3,340 in raffle ticket sales (surpassing last year’s total) and RSI matched the proceeds!

Many, many thanks to the outstanding golfers, sponsors and customers of RSI as well as David Susi, James Adams and the wonderful RSI team for their ongoing support. And more thanks to the REstart volunteers who helped sell tickets and spread the word and about the program: Juli Harris, City Wide Maintenance; Sara Solomon, Paul Davis Restoration; James Barkley, Pacific Backflow; Nicole Bolla, Diversified Construction Technologies; Jeff Morin, Global Disposal; Michelle Torres, Pacific Coast Commercial; Shelly Weld, HG Fenton; and Kim Erlenwein, Varsity Painting.

More support came from the real estate industry…

Cheri Wallace  (REstart Chair) and Michelle Torres  (REstart Steering Committee), both with Pacific Coast Commercial, AMO® were lunching with their new clients, Gene & Judy Siegel. The conversation turned to philanthropy and the Siegel’s were interested to learn more about REstart, which Cheri and Michelle happily shared.  Not long after, REstart received a very welcome surprise: a $5,000 grant from the Gene and Judy Siegel Fund of the Jewish Community Foundation, in honor of Cheri and Michelle! Now that’s good karma!

If your company has open positions, please consider hiring a REstart grad! We happily pass along any job leads to our students – email tamara@restartprogram.org and we’ll take care of the rest. Check out some of our grad resumes on www.restartprogram.org.

Thanks again for your support and generosity!
