Tough Economy Could Prompt Commercial Brokers to Make a Move
September 13, 2011
In a recent article, “Commercial
Brokers Shifting Alliances in a Tough Economy”, featured in The San Diego
Daily Transcript on September 5, 2011, Vince Provenzano, Director of Brokerage Services of Pacific
Coast Commercial, was approached for an interview regarding his thoughts on the
topic of brokers moving from company to company in the commercial real estate industry.
Provenzano said, “The
reason for my move was that Pacific Coast Commercial has given me the autonomy
that I hadn’t enjoyed at my previous firm. The ability to direct the brokerage
and sales staff in a pro-active atmosphere is one of the main reasons I chose
PCC. We want to allow our associates to flourish within their talents, not those
imposed by a structured and restrictive work environment”.
“Additionally, we have
created a menu of compensation guidelines that each associate will have the
opportunity to choose from, which isn’t usually an option at the larger firms,”
sites Provenzano.
Provenzano said there is
no clear answer as to whether there are more commercial real estate brokers moving around than a few years ago.
“In some situations, the
brokers want to stay put because they don’t want to take chances with their
existing clients. In others, they may want to move because of the fees
their current company may beginning to charge,” Provenzano said, adding that
still others are leaving the business altogether.
The times may be tough,
but Provenzano said he is only too happy to mentor brokers who have the
tenacity to face difficulties head on and who want to make a lifelong career in
the commercial sales and leasing industry.
If you are interested in
pursuing a career in Commercial Sales, Property Management, or Leasing, Pacific
Coast Commercial is the Right Choice.
